A visual Articulation of the 3 areas of the brain affected by PTSD. Changes in structure and connection; throughout the amygdala (fear center), prefrontal cortex (emotional regulation), and the hippocampus (helps distinguish between past and present moments in time). Looking deeper at under and over reaction in these areas in reference to my journey with this altered brain function is what inspired this work. 2018.
